LegitTrends

About

LegitTrends answers one question about a place: is it getting better or worse lately?

What this is

A small independent project. It draws a recency-weighted rating line for a business on Google, next to Google's lifetime average, so you can see the direction and not just the number. How the line is worked out is on How it works.

Where the data comes from

Public Google reviews, collected through DataForSEO. A place is read the first time someone looks it up, then refreshed regularly. LegitTrends is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

We keep what Google shows for each review: its stars and date, and also its text, the owner's reply and the reviewer's public name and profile, along with the business's listing details. The ratings drive the chart; the rest is stored privately, never shown on this site and not shared.

What it doesn't see

Reviews that Google hides or removes aren't in the data, and later edits to a review may not be picked up. A rating line is a summary of the reviews we could read, not a verdict on a business.

Privacy

There are no accounts and no ads. To stop abuse we keep an anonymized visitor key for 48 hours: a one-way hash of your network address mixed with a secret that changes daily. We don't store the address itself. Your light or dark choice is saved in your own browser.
